Wireguard and Qbittorrent?

I can't seem to get Qbittorrent working if I switch to the Wireguard protocol?
If I switch to Wireguard and try to download a torrent, it doesn't seem to connect to anything.
The second I switch back to OpenVPN it connects and starts downloading.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling PIA, and checking the Qbittorrent connection interfaces, I am stumped.
Browsing works fine using WireGuard, and I get decent speed.

  • Nothing? Just tried again after latest update. Exact same thing.
  • I just tested with Wireguard, Bittorrent V7.0, and I connected to a torrent. Downloading but it took a little time to connect to the SOCKS5 Proxy Server.

    Might check your QBittorrent's configuration.

Hi, did you manage to fix the problem?
  • You probably have QB binded to OpenVPN.  Go to your advanced settings and change your Network Interface.
  • Nope - network interface is set to any.

I just tried again - I ran into some other problems with QBittorrent in the meantime and rolled back to version 4.2.5
I just tried it now, and the speed on a torrent using Wireguard went up to 2.3 MiB/sec and then dropped to a few KiB/sec and stayed there.
Swtiched back to openVPN and downloading at 10.0 MiB/s
Not using port forwarding - which I think I read can cause issues.
  • I use Qbittorrent 4.31 and Windows 10 PIA version 2.6.1. I set QB's network interface to bind to wqpia0. Torrenting works fine.
My question is whether this works like a kill switch. If I lose PIA connection, will QB stop downloading?
  • I will answer my question myself. I did turn off PIA and my qbittorrent client stopped downloading immediately. So, it is a kill switch.
