How did you determine that gmail was leaking your ISP IP address? Did you actually look at the header of the email and physically see your ISP IP address? Or are you using some form of application/website to make that determination for you?
The email leak test is kinda flawed at the moment in the way it works. It registers a leak as soon as the IP address you access the leak test website from appears in the email headers: it's nothing that the app can do, but you can verify which IP you are leaking and if you are leaking a PIA IP (the same you see in the green banner on PIA's website) then everything is fine! The test is more meant to tell you that your email provider puts your IP in the headers rather than testing the VPN is protecting you for emails (it has to based on the other tests).
Thanks Max-P! I certainly was alarmed to see the red banner following the email IP leak test. Fortunately, I noticed the leaked IP address was PIA’s masked address.
